        “I’m aware.” He laughed as Batroc teased Steve. Batroc knew that Steve can fully understand French and thus he had no real need to speak English but it was all to tease Steve. Batroc of course can speak English quite well for a while now but the whole broken english was just more of an act at this point. “Care to entertain then?’

★— EYES ROLLED to one side, being challenged or rather, told to step up to the plate. His French wasn’t the greatest – sure he could UNDERSTAND, but speaking in his accent? The thick Brooklyn boy’s accent was something that wasn’t easy to shake in the slightest.

Clearing his throat, he shook his head – almost as though he were previously bracing himself to speak;

                         ❛ You goin’ to continue insulting me in your native tongue or are we done with playin’ games?

★—  You know I can’t let you out of there.  The Captain spoke with a voice that lacked sympathy – with a STERN inflection as he glanced at the Leaper, behind the sheet of glass. He couldn’t help but take in the sight, that sent a resounding sense of deja vu through him – the team had put Batroc in jail before, but testing the new cells – or rather, containment facility as they were so nicely put as – was entirely new. It almost reminded him of a ZOO. A cruel concept.

         You were in the wrong place at the wrong time Batroc, do you have anything to say for yourself?

        “I couldn’t defeat you then, and I still can’t defeat you now.  I’ve made no progress and the only thing I could do is escape death. If I can’t complete the only thing I ever wanted then escaping death starts to feel like a hollow victory.”

★—  DEATH IS NEVER THE ANSWER. Ending your life – you have to be stronger, and I say that not as a man who stands face to face with you – to live – to REPENT for your wrongdoings is the best path you can take, Batroc. You’ve always been resilient, so why – why NOW are you contemplating otherwise. You could go down a better path… it’s always open for you. All you have to do is take that FIRST step.

★— Steve stared at the Leaper for a moment – wondering if the demand was a REAL one. The momentary pause caused him to furrow his brows, arms behind his back – TIED.

              A tilt of the head shortly followed, a curious ring about the way he spoke–

              ❛ You could have anythin’ in the world, and THAT’S what you ask for? Quite frankly, Batroc I think you’ve got your priorities a little askew. But I’m not here to judge, as long as… the team are SAFE...

  I share a lot of things pal – I was always taught to SHARE my rations – but in this day and age, it’s time to make a stand – NO ONE touches my sausage rolls.

        Batroc felt Steve put his arm around his waist to help him push forward. How thoughtful of him. Batroc looked into the distance and wished he was just able to leap and reach the mountains, how easy it would be to reach them. Alas it was hard to get off the ground and even then trying to leap would just push the two back.

           Batroc really threw his legs out to push forward, to make the journey quicker. Though the harsh winds made it feel like it’d be days before they reached those mountains, and that’s even if they contain shelter. Batroc hated this, he hated that this was on ordeal that he could fight back but rather try to survive.

            “I HATE this. There’s no way we can make it in time!”

image

★— The POWER of the leapers legs were not to be underestimated – it was enough to assist in speeding up the long, tiresome journey they had ahead. Though at first Steve wanted to warn him to preserve his energy in these types of weather — though, in hindsight, speed wasn’t a bad idea.

            A grip kept him secure, even as the two took large lunges to make their way, the sub-zero winds freezing his lips, decorating his uniform with icicles, that were shaken off with movement.

            Progress was SLOW – but they were getting there.

              ❛ Don’t be so PESSIMISTIC, Leaper! You know we’ve got a while to do, but if we maintain this speed– We’ll get there. Come on, just – KEEP GOING.

        As much as Batroc enjoyed their time together and Steve being his hero and all, this weather was really in the way. The two had each other for now to bear the unforgiving winds that froze Batroc’s face.

        Now Batroc’s boots were specially made to handle combat and extreme conditions so walking through the snow wasn’t much of a difficult task for him. Though the strong winds still pushed against him and Steve/

        Batroc heard Steve shout over the winds. He could only sort of make out what he’s saying. The winds blowing in his eye made it hard to communicate with the other and added to more frostbite.

         “How? All I see is snow for miles!”

★— Noticing that the other man had trouble moving, there was no choice but to wrap an arm around his waist to help guide him forward; giving his lower back that support he needed to trudge through the thick, CRUEL winds.

                The heavy gusts obstructed their vision, but carrying on side by side was all he could do – gesturing only to the mountains in the far distance, that seemed MILES away in this sort of weather. An arm raised to shield himself, knowing using his ACTUAL shield would be a task, with the increase of resistance pushing back at them – it would only slow them down, make them less dynamic.

                  ❛ There are bound to be caves! Dips, somewhere that’ll protect us. We need to get there before the sun sets completely!

        To think Steve and Batroc we’re having such a lovely Christmas Eve spending time with each other. Well by that it was more like fighting as usual but one thing lead to another and now they were transported to the arctics.

          Steve complied and now the two were huddled together, Batroc despite the conditions actually enjoyed it. Steve’s warm arm keeping him close was like a dream come true. “No worries, Mr. America. Right now I think we should both focus on heading home but for now we must remain close.”

★— A mutter HEAVED from the depths of his lungs, and when he exhaled – his breath created a mist in the freezing atmosphere. He may have had his ISSUES with the Leaper, but he wouldn’t allow him to freeze to death.

              Arm looped around the other, hand holding him CLOSE – he began to attempt to walk against the gale force winds. One foot followed the other, crimson boots plunging into the snow.

              His voice had to raise to be heard over the powerful gusts, and even a man with booming vocal chords used to shouting over explosions was struggling in these conditions – needless to say, the cold was his WEAKNESS

                ❛ We need to at least find SHELTER first– try and wait out this blizzard!

★— Many seemed to forget the fact that the American superhero was MULTILINGUAL. He was talented and fluent in a range of languages, particularly given his tours during the war; having to stay in bases in France and Germany for prolonged periods of time. Being the avid reader that he was – naturally he got to grips with the locals and their speech patterns. Though his accent was terribly Americanised, he could understand and converse very well.

        Eyes fixed on the Leaper, who seemed to be muttering to himself;

                          ❛ You know I can understand you, right?
