A deep sigh escaped his lungs. Tony was the WORST to buy for —– what DO you buy a man who has the money to buy anything he wants? Every year was the same struggle — and Steve had remembered when he had bought him a sweater — that look on his face that said ‘thanks but no thanks’, or the one time he’d bought him a tie. Whereas Tony had bought him an entire new motorcycle for Christmas.
❛ Wait —- BOTH of ‘em? What have I missed here…? I know I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, but this is NEW news to me. The only thing I heard was well — when he was in a coma, and now he’s awake again, thankfully. ❜
★— NO WONDER she worked with Tony, the both of them were more similar than she had thought – well, in terms of THIS instance anyway. Most of the time they were quite different but there were those similarities that did bring about a small chuckle from the Captain, earning that very same eyebrow raise he’d give to Stark when he was talking about his arsenal of expensive vehicles.

★— UNDERSTANDABLY she had that posture about her; closed and looking rather SHIFTY, but within a string of words her case was explained, and Steve just stared at her wide eyed. With one answer, multiple questions arose.

★— NOTICING HER TEARS, instinct took over, and he found himself stepping closer to sling one arm around her, as the pang in his heart wasn’t something that he could ignore – for the most part she was showing a strong, unphased side to her, but he had to remember that she was young —- and emotions were all part of this gig, unfortunately.

★— MANY PEOPLE DID – they would consider the golden boy to be someone who CONSTANTLY stuck by the rules, but Steve was far from it – if something didn’t sit in line with his personal code of ethics, he would go against it. He replied with a calm tilt of his head to one side, almost as if to say ‘it goes to show’.
❛ OF COURSE I can, we can get her and yourself to a safe place, keep you both out of harms way and out of the limelight. Sometimes keeping out of that sort of thing — does you the world of good. ❜

★—UNBELIEVABLE. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing – a superhero, a threat to the surrounding community? That sort of talk had given him wild flashbacks to the time that the registration act was being protested, which in turn brought a much deeper scowl to his expression.
❛ You save lives, Riri, I’m sure you don’t need me to reiterate what you’ve probably been trying to say, but honestly? This sort of talk really GRINDS my gears. Like I said, there’s always room with me and some of the other folks, but I understand wanting to dig your heels in and put up a fight. ❜

❛ Weird? How so? — Either way, you know you’ve always got a place to stay Riri, it may not be the tower but my place in Brooklyn is big enough for a couple o’ folks. Hold on, did you say the city council is going to ban you? Riri, what’s going on? ❜
Steve Rogers was your average kid, a who had nothing. He grew up during the great depression which resulted in him later on having a great value for everything that he now receives. He was meek as a child and was constantly bullied for his small size, that added to the fact that he had an extremely poor immune system and was diagnosed with every ailment and illness under the sun. Instead he continued with his education, specialising in arts where he constantly depicted himself as a super-hero, or drew heroes that could help save him.
After his mother (Sarah) passed away he faced a severe depression which he masked by engulfing himself in his pursuit of achieving his dream; joining the army and following in the footsteps of his father (Joseph).
He was constantly rejected. Time after time due to his small stature until he was taken on board project ‘rebirth’ where with the assistance of Howard Stark’s technology and Dr Josef Reinstien – he was turned into a super soldier. Initially he was a poster boy, being used for marketing campaigns by the US army in order to encourage recruitment as well as help improve the general PR image.
Breaking the rules and letting his complex get in the way, he decided to take down US’s number one enemy at the time – the Red Skull.
It was during a fight with Baron Zemo - that he had lost his best friend, Bucky Barnes in a tragic fall when the boy wonder was strapped to a rocket. Steve watched the rocket explode and that image had forever haunted his nightmares.
Taking down the Red Skull, he managed to save the country – however, it involved extreme self sacrifice as he steered the plane he was in into the sea. Luckily enough, it was preserved in ice as the sub-zero conditions froze Steve in a block of ice for a number of decades. The super-soldier serum is what had kept him alive all this time, preserved in ice until eventually he was thawed free – waking up, confused, dazed and delusional.
